Not Bad For First Day Back to Reality...

So I have decided to renew my efforts to blog regularly. This desire has been brought on mostly by Anthony's schedule. This week he starts a 4-week rotation of 12 hour day shifts (6a-6p). Between signing out to the next person and driving home, there will likely be several days of the week that he will not see Maddy at all! So, I decided it would be a good idea to start capturing our days so he can be a part of them - even if it is remotely.

We are back from a really fabulous family vacation with my whole family (all 10 of us!) and today was the first day back to reality. I have to admit I was more than a little worried about how I would adjust to being with Maddy all by myself again (after all the wonderful help I got on vacation) and a little sad about how much I knew I would be missing Anthony. Surprisingly, the day went great! We started off with the BIGGEST and MESSIEST poopy diaper Maddy has ever had. Yes, it filled the entire diaper. Yes, it was a blowout. Yes, it was a BIG STICKY MESS! After we got that all cleaned off, it was on to breakfast!

Maddy with a yummy breakfast of Cheerios and Bananas (she is still down to her diaper here from the big poopy)

Love that little face!

Bella was happy to be home and didn't leave her favorite morning spot (Anthony's side of the bed) for a full hour after I got up!

Maddy shared some of my breakfast (oatmeal) and really liked it!

Since it was sunny and warm, we decided to take a long walk. We both enjoyed it!

Just a cute picture of Maddy during playtime.

Me and Lillian

After afternoon naps, we headed over to Emily's house for a visit! It was so great to see her, Lillian and Rosie! We had a nice time chatting, playing with the kids outside, and surviving the late afternoon meltdown! :)

Since we hadn't been to the grocery store yet and were running dangerously low on fresh food, Maddy and I stopped on our way home. Poor little girl was so tired she was falling asleep as I opened the door to take her out of the carseat and put her into the shopping cart. She was such a trooper and even in her tired cranky state she garnered several compliments ("What a sweet little girl." "Oh, she's so beautiful!") After that it was quickly to bath and then bed! She was one tired little girl!

Here's a video of one of our favorite new playtime activities with Maddy. She has just begun to be able to do hide-and-seek! Enjoy!
